Impact at a glance

  • 15-20

Bags of litter collected weekly across South Norwood and Croydon

  • 750+

    bags collected per year

  • 10–15

volunteers per session, with 5–6 new volunteers joining each month

  • 600+

    volunteer attendances per year

  • 20+

funded or commissioned projects delivered since 2022

These figures reflect consistency rather than one-off activity. Weekly sessions, returning volunteers, and shared responsibility create trust, routine, and long-term engagement.

Litter-picking becomes a neutral and welcoming space where people meet others they might never otherwise encounter, across age, background, belief, and ability, building relationships.

Supporting young People through real responsibility

Since 2022, Norwood JunKAction has provided sustained, young-person-led training opportunities to over 30 young people.

These are not one-off workshops, but extended engagements focused on real responsibility, time commitment, and confidence-building.
