Opportunities
Get Involved with Norwood JunkAction
Norwood JunKAction (NJA) is a community-led environmental and creative action programme based in South Norwood. We create regular, welcoming opportunities for people to care for their local area, connect with others, and take part in collective action through litter-picking, creative workshops, and public engagement.
There are many ways to get involved, whether you want to volunteer your time, share skills or resources, support fundraising, or explore longer-term partnerships.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are currently looking for volunteers to support:
-
Weekly litter-picking sessions in South Norwood and Croydon
-
Creative workshops using reclaimed and recycled materials
-
Community events and local projects
No prior experience is required. What matters is reliability, openness, and care for shared spaces. Volunteering with NJA is about showing up regularly, working alongside others, and contributing to something grounded, visible, and collective.
Skills, Training & Development
We welcome individuals and organisations who can support learning and growth within NJA, including:
-
Training or skill-sharing • Training or skill-sharing for volunteers (facilitation, leadership, creative skills, communications, etc.)
-
Mentoring and development opportunities particularly for young people
-
Knowledge exchange that strengthens our programmes and community practice
We prioritise practical, accessible learning rooted in real responsibility rather than one-off workshops.

Local knowledge over imposed solutions
Local Partnerships & Resource Sharing
