Environmental Community Project | Norwood Junk Action | United Kingdom
For King Charles’s Conornation, NJA set up JunKoronation, exploring a different way of celebrating the coronation ceremony beyond pageantry. In the run up to the coronation event we worked with pupils from Oasis Ryelands Primary School, creatively engaging with litter-picking and designing attractive crowns from collected materials. For the main event on Coronation Day we even had a Junk Throne! It was exhibited and celebrated during the Green Coronation Day at Stanley Arts.
Junkoronation fostered the idea that everyone can be a King or Queen once they have learned about the importance of environmental care, self-care and care for their community.
